FAQs

What is the attendance policy?

Key Club meets every other Thursday during Connectivity. One unexcused absence is allowed for the school year. For your absence to be excused, please email Reyansh Bahl (rbahl@students.wcpss.net) prior to the meeting.

How many hours do I get for attending meetings?

For every meeting you attend, you will receive .5 in-club hours. Meetings also count as Key Club sponsored events!

How do I log the meeting hours?

On the hours log, mark it as "In-Club" and write "Key Club Meeting".

You must have filled out the attendance forms to get this credit! At the end of the semester, everyone's attendance will be checked to make sure the correct number of hours have been given. Credit will not be given if you did not fill out the attendance form!

How many hours am I required to complete?

You need to complete 50 hours throughout the school year. At least 25 should be from in-club events, and at least 25 should be from out-of-club events. At least 12 out of 25 in-club hours should be from events that GLHS Key Club organizes (meetings count!).

How do out-of-club hours work? How do I find out-of-club opportunities?

Out-of-Club Hours are from whatever volunteering that you do outside of Key Club. Organizations that have their own hours requirement may not be used as hours for Key Club. This includes Cary Teen Council, NHS, etc.. We have a list of out-of-club volunteering ideas in the Events and Opportunities section. If you have any questions about this requirement or are in need of additional opportunities, feel free to contact us.
